This rich and robust tea aquires its unique smoky flavor and scent during its initial processing.
This is a black tea originally from the Wuyi region of the Chinese province of Fujian. The tea leaves acquire their intensely smoky flavor when the leaves are dried over a smoldering pine fire, and the result brings a memory of sitting by the campfire with friends or family. Because the larger-leaf varieties have less caffeine than other black teas, Lapsang Souchong makes a popular choice for evening consumption. Many comments have been made that you either truly love the taste or hate it, a tea that definitely takes some time to adjust to. This smoky tea can be served with milk. This tea is sometimes referred to as Russian Caravan.
